Normally I would say Merry Christmas, but not this year. Christmas sucks. It is a big let down. I am not with my family and no one invited me anywhere. Today is just a regular day. I am struggling financially, after 5 years I still have no full time job, and I have no idea if I will have a telephone next week and I don't know how the rent is going to get paid in January. I think in 2009 I will stop attending church, stop tithing, and forget celebrating Christmas, Easter and my birthday. It's better this way because then you don't get your hopes up and the day does not become a big let down. And when life continues to not go how you expected it to and when God still does not answer your prayers then you aren't disappointed.

Bad me. I used to update this thing on a daily basis. That shall be my resolution for 2009. To once again blog on a daily basis.

I had a nice Thanksgiving. I stayed home on Thanksgiving day and actually cooked for myself and gave the kitties some canned food - turkey flavor. The day after I went for dinner at the house of a lady I work with in News America Marketing (one of my part time jobs). I loved loved loved the chocolate pecan pie from Cracker Barrel and banana pudding made with organic bananas.

I got the semester wrapped up :) I absolutely love being at the college level now. I am scheduled to teach 4 clases in the spring semester. I am still applying for full time positions at the college level and I really hope 2009 will be the year that God opens a door for that.

Okay that is all for now.

Oooops. Last time I updated was over a month ago. Lots has happened.

I am no longer in my 30's. I do not feel like I have entered into another decade - my eyes have not changed for the worse and I have no wrinkles, do not need a walker and do not need geritol. For my birthday I worked early voting and got sunburned. I had a birthday breakfast of muffins and sausage, at lunch I had a chocolate dream cupcake from Target to go with my lunch, and then I did take myself out to TGI Friday's in the evening and spent almost $20 on dinner. I had Jack Daniels chicken and shrimp - it was yummy. I also got myself a birthday cake from Target. The cake was so so - I prefer buttercream frosting to what they had on it.

I worked all during early voting in addition to my teaching responsibilities at Navarro College. I was wiped out. I also worked all day on election day - 12 hours. Then I went to a victory party for the candidate I was working for. Unfortunately he lost, but the lawyer I volunteered for that was running for judge won. I also got to meet my United States Congressman - Joe Barton. Woo hoo!!! I got a picture of him with my little Roo and his autograph. He is really cool. I would love to work for him or voulnteer for him.

I have more to say, but I shall leave it for tomorrow.

I exist. Although I was wondering about my existenceon Tuesday at 3 something in the morning when I woke up with chills and my muscles all achy. I finally dragged myself out of bed at 4 something took my temperature and lo and behold it was 100.4. I then changed into my Texas Longhorns jammies (they make me feel better) and went back to sleep and then got back up at 6 amish and finally took 2 ibuprofen and laid down on the couch to watch Fox News. I conked out after I ate breakfast. By the end of the day I was feeling much better. Yay!!!

So now here it is Thursday. I am working on the first exam for my students. Have I mentioned lately that I love love love my job? Now if it were only full time - or if I were an academic advisor that also adjunct instructed on the side. I definitely believe that college is where my niche is and I am thankful that God kept the doors closed on being a school counselor. This is soooooo much better. Now like I said to turn my passion into a full time position where I am academic advising and adjunct instructing.

Little Miss Ella is being adorable after being a pain earlier. She is currently underneath the desk napping. She is going to be the big 8 months in 2 more days. Getting closer to the big 1 year old. When she turns 1 off she goes from kitten food. I am hoping that Sugar will lose some weight. She has packed on the pounds since I got Ella (thanks to kitten food and partially to some canned food - which I am trying not to give her).

Okay that is all for now. I need to get this exam done. I have jazz music on the tv in the other room to work to (sad that it has to be on the tv - boo no jazz radio station).

It's Saturday - yay!!!

I had fun yesterday in class. I showed my students a video on brain surgery and it was pretty cool. It's called - It Ain't Television It's Brain Surgery. The I started my lecture on learning. I decided since I am advising Psi Beta that I will have them (as soon as I get it together) work on a psychology related project this semester - build a maze for my rats to run through. That should be fun

I went to a wedding last night - my friends Josh and Grace got married. Yay!!! That was the funnest wedding I went to. My table was soooo much fun. It was 3 mister sisters from UTA (one is alumni), the best friend of one of the guys, a former roomie of Josh and Grace, and a really cool guy (who was in choir) that wanted to graduate so he left UTA and went to UNT. I had at first sat a table by myself because I thought oh the empty chair is for someone they are waiting on. Well, Bully came ove and said I could sit there - he didn't have a date. So I joined them. Not only was my table fun, but Josh's family knows how to throw a great party. And everyone had fun and the music was great and it was a blast. I actually stayed the entire time. That was cool.

I have an interview on Monday afternoon for an academic advising position at Navarro College. Prayers are appreciated. I am going to work on getting myself prepared so they will want to invite me to a second interview.

Okay that is all.
